EUR Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Transfer Restrictions
What’s Changed
Effective July 14, 2025, Devdraft can no longer accept peer-to-peer (P2P) SEPA transfers to individual EUR accounts. Any P2P SEPA payment sent to your EUR vIBAN will be automatically rejected and returned to the sender. What is a P2P Transfer?
A peer-to-peer (P2P) transfer is when another individual sends you money from their personal bank account.Examples of P2P Transfers (Currently Blocked):
- A friend paying you back for dinner from their personal account
- A client paying you for freelance work from their personal checking account
- Family members sending you money from their personal bank account
- Another individual transferring money to you from their personal account
What Still Works
You can still receive EUR payments from: ✅ Your own bank accountsTransfers from your personal accounts to your Devdraft account work normally. ✅ Payroll payments
Salary payments from your employer’s payroll system. ✅ Business payments
Payments from registered business bank accounts. ✅ Vendor/Company payments
Invoices paid by companies or vendors from their business accounts.
Why This Happened
This restriction is a temporary fraud mitigation measure implemented by our payment processing partner in response to a significant spike in fraudulent P2P SEPA transactions and chargebacks. We’re actively working to lift this restriction as soon as it’s safe to do so.What to Do If Your Payment Was Returned
If your incoming EUR payment was returned, you have several options:Option 1: Use Your Own Account
Transfer funds from your own EUR bank account to your Devdraft account. First-party transfers are not affected.Option 2: Request Business Payment
If you’re receiving payment for services or products, ask the sender to pay from a business account instead of their personal account.Option 3: Alternative Payment Method
Consider using:- USD transfers (if available)
- Crypto deposits (USDC, EURC)
- Other supported payment methods
